Sam Perkin has composed for The Irish Chamber Orchestra, The RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet, Finghin Collins, The Fidelio Trio, Voci Nuove Chamber Choir, percussionist Alex Petcu, The Irish Association of Youth Orchestras, ConCorda String Orchestra, Gregynog Chamber Music Festival, Ortús Chamber Music Festival and The New Ross Piano Festival. His work has been supported by The Arts Council of Ireland.
He completed an Artist Diploma at Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique de Lyon after previously studying at the CIT Cork School of Music where he obtained a BMus Degree and an MA in Composition.
Sam is currently writing a new work for American violinist Miranda Cuckson for The West Cork Chamber Music Festival 2017, and a Concerto Grosso for percussionist Alex Petcu with The Irish Chamber Orchestra.
