Lecturer of Flute

MA, BMus

Caoimhe is a classically trained flautist, holding a BMus (Hons) and MA in flute performance, but is equally at home playing other styles of music ranging from Irish traditional to Latin. She studied at the CIT Cork School of Music and the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Caoimhe has toured extensively throughout Ireland, Europe and America, and has performed in venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall and Disneyland.

Alongside performing, Caoimhe is actively involved in participatory music making, working with a wide variety of groups in community settings, with a particular focus on music in healthcare settings. Through this work she has facilitated and managed projects in Ireland, Europe and Africa. She is founder of MusicAlive, an organisation specialising in providing Arts & Health projects in a wide range of healthcare and community settings.
