Aileen studied Music and English at University College Cork, graduating first in her class and receiving a College Scholar award and the Hart prize. She taught keyboard harmony in UCC during postgraduate studies in Baroque Interpretation and Performance, and subsequently resumed teaching after spending time working and studying in the U.S. Prior to taking up her current position she was the Annual Giving Director of the Handel & Haydn Society, a period orchestra and chorus in Boston, and studied with jazz educator Charlie Banacos.
