The CSM Jazz Big Band has provided a weekly training for the young musicians of Cork and has represented the CIT CSM and the city of Cork on concert and civic platforms worldwide. This year, to mark the twenty-fifth anniversay, the Band is embarking on a self-funded visit to New york, the spiritual home of jazz, for workshops and concerts with some of the most distinguised musicians in the field. Under the musical direction of Cormac McCarthy, this band will showcase the ongoing work the CIT CSM's jazz community and give the students the opportunity of a lifetime.
