Transition Year Work Experience Project 2020
Traditional Irish Music
Due to Covid-19, the Transition Year Project will not take place in 2021.
All suitable instruments
6 to 9 April 2020 at the CIT Cork School of Music, Union Quay, Cork City Centre
This is a work experience performance project for any students in transition year in 2020. Students will receive group and individual mentoring in their chosen instruments from 10 to 3 each day and will give a public concert on the afternoon of 9 April in aid of a local charity. For the trad course we will accept any suitable instruments - including piano and double bass. Places are limited so you should apply early. You do not have to have any 'grades' in your chosen instrument but you should be able to play fluently both as an individual or with others. If you are in any doubt drop us an email and we can talk you through it! All players, including harpists should bring their own instruments; grand pianos and double basses will be provided! Please fill in and submit the form below and we will contact you as soon as we can confirm your place. We will send confirmation with a bill for a non-refundable fee of €50 which can be paid online to secure the place. This is the full fee for the week. This is not a chaperoned course - there is a full service cafe onsite but we do not arrange accommodation or will not be responsible for feeding or entertaining the participants once they leave the Cork School of Music every day. We can recommend Sheila's Hostel on Wellington Rd if you are travelling. Queries or clarification - email TY TRAD INFO
